Chaîne des Rôtisseurs – A Centuries-Old Gastronomic Association
Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is the world’s largest and oldest gastronomic association. Its mission is to foster collaboration between culinary professionals and food and wine enthusiasts, as well as to preserve and promote local food culture. The association helps share information about the Food & Fun Festival with its members and the wider public in Finland.
Discover this fascinating international association, whose roots date back more than 700 years in France. It represents a genuine piece of culinary history – one that can be seen and experienced also in Turku’s restaurants!
The association was founded in 1248 to honour and preserve classical French culinary arts. After various historical turns, it was revived in 1950. Restaurants and delicatessens that represent the highest quality in their category are awarded the internationally respected Chaîne des Rôtisseurs plaque.
The association brings together passionate food and wine lovers with highly skilled hospitality professionals. Today, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is present in more than 75 countries. In Finland, it is divided into regional bailliages, with the Turku Bailliage being the second largest after Helsinki. Turku Bailliage is particularly active, with just over 350 professional and amateur members, 13 plaque-holding restaurants, and 5 delicatessens. Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Turku ry is dedicated to supporting Turku’s culinary culture and the ongoing viability of its plaque establishments. Read more about the activities of the Rôtisseurs below!
Remember to present your Rôtisseurs membership card in participating restaurants to receive your restaurant-specific member benefits!
