E.Ekblom
Läntinen Rantakatu 3, 20100 TurkuSpecial. Surprising. Delicious.
Elegant on the outside yet warm and inviting within, this charming neighbourhood restaurant captivates with its authenticity. Excellent food, expertly crafted drinks and beautiful surroundings guarantee a memorable experience.
The most beautiful restaurant in the city, E. Ekblom enjoys an unbeatable location along the Aura River, right beside Kirjastosilta Bridge. The windows of the charming pink building open directly onto the riverside through rows of grand linden trees. The view is without question the finest in Turku – perhaps even in all of Finland.
This historic property was built in 1844. Watchmaker Elias Ekblom originally designed the building as his private residence but eventually transformed the premises into a hotel and dance restaurant. Today, the restaurant spaces have been restored with deep respect for the building’s history and traditions. Beneath Ekblom’s vaulted arches, the atmosphere is always warm and relaxed. It is a place to enjoy together with friends, family or a loved one alike.
The restaurant’s stunning Lounge accommodates up to 40 guests and is available for private hire, as is the Old Wine Cellar cabinet room. Upstairs at E. Ekblom is the elegant private dining venue Neuvolansali, a popular setting for special occasions. In summer, the terrace opening out in front of the restaurant invites guests to sit back and enjoy the riverside atmosphere.
Efortlessly sophisticated, E. Ekblom is a restaurant, wine bar and living room in one of Turku’s most prestigious locations. The kitchen serves carefully crafted dishes to suit every taste. The menu features juicy burgers, delicious tapas and more classic dishes alike, and is clearly divided into starters, mains and desserts. Every dish is exactly what it promises to be – not overcomplicated, but honest and full of flavour.
The restaurant’s undeniable speciality is the weekly changing three-course menu, always offering something special, something surprising – and unquestionably delicious. This customisable experience has become a firm favourite among guests, while the pricing remains remarkably reasonable for the quality offered. Guests can choose both a starter and main course from several different options. The experience can be complemented with an intermediate risotto course, the cheese of the day or by moving straight on to dessert.
The restaurant staff are also happy to assist with wine selections. The menu includes a carefully curated wine pairing, while the wider wine and drinks selection is exceptionally tempting. Alongside wines, cocktails, local craft beers and ciders, guests will also find an extensive range of non-alcoholic alternatives. Stop by for a glass of your favourite drink or gather friends for dinner – your evening is guaranteed to be a success.
